WASHINGTON: Former secretary of defense Donald Rumsfeld admitted under
oath today that there was a coverup of the circumstances of
former football star and Army Ranger Pat Tillman.
Tillman was killed by friendly fire, but initial Army reports
stated that he was killed by enemy fire. Donald Rumsfeld, who
was secretary of defense at the time, said he was not involved
in the coverup and that he got most of his news on military
casualties from the media -- and since the media is prohibited
from reporting on the flag-draped coffins of dead US soldiers,
there wasn't much media coverage.
Senate hearings continue for other military involvement in Tillman's death.
