WASHINGTON: Republicans are acting like Democrats and throwing
money at a problem -- namely, GOP defections over the war in
Iraq.
A $15 million ad campaign, partially paid for with US taxpayer money,
urges fellow Republicans not to cut & run from President Bush's
disasterous Iraqi policy not to cut & run.
"A few high-level turncoats have spoken out against the president's
foreign policy, and we intend to nip that in the bud," said a high
GOP party member who wished to be anonymous. "It should be easy to
convince most members of Congress to continue to support the war
in Iraq, since none of them have close family members in the
military."
The ad campaign is put on by "Freedom's Watch," who also helped
former Senator and male factor Alfonse D'omato of New York.
