ARKANSAS: Mike Huckabee, Republican presidential candidate and former
governor of Arkansas, played a key role in granting parole to a
convicted rapist who went on to rape and murder two women after release.
According to some news sources, Huckabee may have been influenced by
claims that the rapist was framed by Bill Clinton. Huckabee says that
all four of the previous parole board members are now lying about
his role in the affair: "They must be paid off by Clinton."
"Besides, I thought the guy was in prison for being a Papist, not
a rapist. I thought a few weeks in prison was punishment enough
for being Catholic in my state."
