VATICAN CITY: Pope Benedict XVI will be visiting
the US for the
first time early next year.
The Pope plans to visit New York and Washington (DC, not the state). Some
people criticized that the visit excluded Boston, where recent lawsuit
settlements over priests abusing children have nearly bankrupted the
diocese.
Father Secola, a spokesman for the Vatican and potential future Pope,
said that there were plenty of molested kids in New York and
Washington, so Boston did not need to be added.
