WALL STREET: Arguing that anyone taken by God in the Rapture will not use
public-financed infrastructure such as roads or schools, Presidential
hopeful Tom Tancredo (R-CO) has proposed a tax cutting measure for believers.
Similar to Tax Increment Financing, where the public
investment in a commercial enterprise is based on how much increased
taxes the new business will generate in the future, Rapture Index
Financing will reduce the taxes of anyone based on the future costs
they will not incur as the rest of the country is left behind.
The measure garnered immediate support from Donald E. Wildman, George W.
Bush and the late Jerry Falwell.
