ILLINOIS: Former Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL) is expected to announce that he
is resigning his seat in the House of Representatives, and then is
even more expected to announce that he is un-resigning.
"He hasn't
been in a public bathroom stall since Larry Craig pled guilty to Lewd
Conduct," said an official with close ties to the Congressman, "but
he's hoping Larry Craig and David Vitter have buried the whole Mark
Foley cover-up in the public's mind, and he is reconsidering his
actions."
Hastert has not publicly announced his un-resignation, leading to
speculation that he might re-resign.
