HOLLYWOOD: Fred Thompson, sometimes actor, sometimes
politician, announced that he is running for the
Republican nomination for president in 2008.
"This is not a time that the United States should
be electing someone who's going to get on-the-job training,"
said opponent Rudolph Giuliani, apparently stumping for
former Governor Mitt Romney. "I think he's done a pretty
good job of playing my part on 'Law and Order,'" continued
Giuliani, a former NY prosecutor. "I personally prefer the
real thing," added Giuliani, drinking a Coke.
Fred Thompson said he was glad that former Governor Tommy
Thompson dropped out of the race; "There isn't room enough
for two Thompsons, unless you're referring to that band,
the Thompson Twins."
