WASHINGTON: George Papoon, Surrealist party candidate for president, was roundly criticized for using a "fake" presidential seal on the front of his podium, reminiscient of the actual presidential seal.

The fake "seal" in front of the podium was a baby walrus with a red ball tied to his nose. The real presidential seal is a highly-trained circus seal who can balance a ball on his nose for an entire two-hour filibuster.

"I regret any confusement this may have caused," said Papoon in a statement typed by somebody else. "We were unable to find an actual seal in time for the speech, but then I remembered 'I am the walrus'!"
