EAST FISHKILL, NEW YORK: "Flounder's Day? Why
do they get a special day?" rhetorically asked Rhett Butter,
a fisherman who has never liked flounder.
"I can think of a lot of fish that deserve a day more than
a flounder," he carped. "Listen, I work for scale, I can't
take time out to devote to one kind of fish. I mean,
I like Lawrence Whelk, but I watch other shows, too."
"I lost all my money when I bought (COD, of course) a fake
Picasso of a flatfish
with eyes on either side of its head..."
His friend Moray could not be poached for comment.
